Galvanized sheet is a relatively common material used in manufacturing. Galvanized sheet is the steel sheet coated with a layer of metallic zinc on the surface which can prevent corrosion and extend its service life. So is this material suitable for laser cutting machines?


Generally for galvanized sheets, laser cutting machines can cut easily. Most organic and inorganic materials can be used. Various metal materials commonly used in industrial manufacturing systems are almost cut regardless of their hardness. Copper, aluminum and their alloy plates are all no problem.


In the process of processing galvanized sheet, auxiliary gas needs to be added. The purity and pressure of auxiliary gas directly affect the quality of the cut sheet section. The oxygen purity for cutting should be above 99.6%. When the purity of the oxygen used for cutting is higher, the better of the roughness and quality for the section of galvanized sheet will be, of course the cutting cost will also increase. The nitrogen purity during cutting should be above 99.5%. Increasing the nitrogen purity can ensure that the seam does not change the color during the cutting of the galvanized sheet.
